A Day of Work in the Life of an Artist

work day artist

This vlog provides a small glimpse inside one of my work days. From school drop off, getting ready for the day, book reading filming, creating the "you were made to shine" for this channel, tending to the elder dog-my co worker, watching the rain and school pick up. The absolute inside look of a flexible artist life. May you be inspire for what your work day looks like. We all have them being a service to others. Be inspired. Be you. Shine.

Are you an artist?
Do you work from home in any manner?
How do you stay encouraged?

Much love,
Ashley

Unicorn Frappuccino

Calorie Free! Unicorn Frappuccino! You guessed it, another watercolor. Come with me as I show you this creative process. I hope you enjoy watching this process and enjoy the freeness of it. May you be inspired to create your very own. So often, I am told "you are so talented" "I could never do that"! I am here to tell you, "yes, you can". Countless times, I sit down with friends and family to create something as say this project. By the end, I am surprised and so are they at what they are able to create. We are all different and meant to be. Therefore our creations are all going to look slightly different. Believe me it took me years to get where I am. Art has been my passion since a child, in more then one form or another, but I will be honest. Not always have, I like what I create. Often, I see someone else's creation I love more. And even tried to duplicate others work. It just doesn't happen that way. I've learned a lot about myself and others though the years of creating. One being of myself, once I accepted, say my hand writing in my artwork, I could move forward enjoying the process. One of others, they can create artwork too, really well actually. I encourage you to get an art journal, color pencils, watercolor or markers and create you a Calorie Free Unicorn Frappuccino. Don't stop there. Continue creating other things you feel inspired by, but remember yours will not look like the person next to you. Embrace the process watching how free you are.

Please like, comment, share and or subscribe. I am very thankful for your time viewing this process. And would love to hear from you about your own creative process.

Have a wonderful day and remember to shine,
Ashley Murphy

How I Created My Intro: Watercolor TV

create intro youtube

When I set out to start vlogging on youtube. I knew a tv would be involved. Since technically speaking posting videos on youtube is creating your own channel, tv channel. Most of us, watch tv from our devices these days. So here you have it, my tv for my channel. Sharing this process with you is to shine a light on the journey you are on, creating your channel, starting a BBQ team, working on a book cover, decorating your home or some other creative process. We all gain inspiration from each other no matter what the task.

Please like, comment, share and subscribe.

Shine,
Ashley

Leftover Plastic Easter Eggs

leftover plastic Easter eggs

How many leftover plastic Easter eggs do you have? Watch this quick tutorial below on making something with those leftovers. You will have something created which will last years to come. I filmed this a few years ago for a bonus on a spring artwork shop, Learn Live Lead, of mine. Still to this day, I put my eggs out in a basket every Easter. They are so cute! Hope you make some to have around for years to come too. Let me know how many you have leftover. Happy Easter!

Ashley Murphy

Book Reading: Listen Free

book reading

You guessed it! Today, I am reading from my very own book, Under Contract: Life in the Middle of Dreams, a verse novel. The first Christian verse novel to my knowledge. Have you heard of a verse novel before? An example of authors such as Ellen Hopkins, Sonya Sones and Lisa Schroeder write verse novels. Enjoy your viewing while listening to this book reading. I am super excited sharing this with you. This is probably one of my favorite recordings for my youtube channel so far.  If you need to purchase a copy, you can do so here http://amzn.to/2lqxgUP . Tell a friend, share this video, write a book review on Amazon, watch the actual video on Youtube and/or comment below. All of these help me as an artist not starve. You don't want to see the hungry me. I promise! Much love to all of you!

I'll see you next time.

Shine,
Ashley Murphy

Homemade Signs Are The Best

I am starting to get the hang of sharing a video weekly on Youtube. Then sharing it on my blog for you. This week I am sharing something from a few weeks ago. My oldest daughter turned 21. On one of the weekends closest to her birthday she came home from college for a weekend stay. I ran out of time to purchase a sign/balloons as we would be celebrating her birthday. My wheels begin spinning. I worked with what I had on hand creating this very simple handmade/hand painted sign. Hope you find this encouraging to make use of things you already have on hand to simplify life. It does't need to  be a big fancy production. What ways do you try to simplify?

I hope you have a wonder day.

I'll see you next time.

Shine,
Ashley Murphy
