Thursday Turtle

Today on Thursday Turtle here at Ashley's Art Closet you get to watch a video. Yay! The video was filmed using my iPhone one day when I finished cleaning their aquarium. They love it when it's clean. This is the only time they swim around like this. Usually they are more in hang out mode. Enjoy!

DIY How to Paint a Fox

DIY How to Paint a Fox

What you will need:

a pencil
a eraser
a pen
a mix media pad
or
a watercolor pad
watercolor palette
water
paintbrush
a piece of 3x3 cardboard
a picture of a fox
time
patience
confident heart

(this post includes a video, see further below)

Pick your fox pictures out, I found mine on Pinterest. You many see one in a magazine, a kids book or google. It helps to look at something for inspiration. I really like the two fox in the above picture.

clear your workspace
trace the 3x3 cardboard
study the fox picture/pictures you gathered
begin sketching out what you see
if you mess up, erase, sketch again
sketch over your sketch to define clearly
lightly erase your sketch (so you don't see it through your watercolor)
start in the upper section of the fox mix a few brown colors from your watercolor palette
mix colors to your liking, remember you are the artist
yours will not look like mine or the person next to you
use those same brown colors around the outer parts of her ears
use a white to make a light tan to fill in the lower half of the fox face
use a dare brown for the a half of the inside of the ear
use the white for the other half of the inside of ear
dark brown for the nose
lite brown for mouth
black for eys
blue for glasses
you can use your pen to lightly outline (I did not)

Notice I didn't use my black pen to outline. This is something I usually do but I ran out of time. Can easily do it if you like or leave it as is. I kinda like mine without.

Splash of SUNSHINE

Here in the south
it's been raining for like
three days!

It's spring for crying out loud.

Enjoy this video I made!

When there's no sun,
create your own!

Frame

I am posting these four Frame videos so a
friend can have easy access for viewing them!

They are videos from
last year that hold so much truth and no
matter where you stand in your life, I feel
there's something in them for everyone. Even
for me there was something in each one of them,
points of views that even 10 years ago I didn't look at!
Boy see, there is an advantage, beauty to getting older.

We just have to continue to seek and leave room to grow...

Everyone view 'em if you like even leave me a comment,
click on the like-inspiring button,
or you can email me!
I would love to hear from you.

Have an awesome weekend...

I can hardly wait....

I am not a big football person -

Although growing up I watched the Saints with my mom.

Below is an interview with Drew Bress, it's very touching.

When Katrina hit New Orleans I watched how broking everyone
was...for them to take this stand now.. the super bowl..
lets us know good really does come!

And to have Drew as the QB is just awesome...

I will be watching the super bowl...!!!

Laughter :)

I am diffidently an Izzy...mother always tells me
I laugh in such moments someone should be crying.

Do you laugh in times most are crying?
Do you watch Greys Anatomy, if so which character best fits you?
