Welcome March

Realizing your growth as an artist calls for a free gift.

As we walk into the first day of March, I have something for everyone.

I am so glad you are reading this.
I am so glad you read my regular blog post.
I am so glad you've watched me over the years grow.

My thank you is you having FREE access to my online art class I filmed in 2013.

It's Spring related so I wanted to share the entire month of March.

The classroom is set up like my regular blog. So if you are a regular reader of my blog then you are familiar already. The class will be easy to navigate. Use the password below each video to gain access to the video lessons. The only one not password protected is the first one. It's been fun looking back over this class seeing how I've grown as an artist and realizing my studio looks different too.

With Spring break around the corner, this would be a great backup plan or front line plan. It's great for all ages. May you're needing something to watch as free entertainment or want to get to know me better this is your moment. You can do the activities or not. Totally up to you. Hope you enjoy seeing what it's like inside my classroom.

A few things since the filming of this class in 2013:

I have new pillows on my front porch swing.
My husband built a new table for my studio.
I no longer have the inspiration board.
The wall with the mirror has more of my artwork hanging.
Sean Lowe is married now.
I haven't been back to Vegas.
I started writing my second book.

Filming this class helped me overcome some major depression I was battling.

I can not thank you enough for being you.

It's people like you who make my creating possible to move forward.

It's because of people like you platforms grow.

This is a $39 dollar value.

Enjoy!

Please share!

Just finished filming how to make this nest !!!
#cutestuff beginning stages of an online art class!
#joinmeforthejourney

So I am here today
to continue this process and
allow you to see
alittle more
along
the
way!

Back into editing videos
reminds me of
my wedding photography
days editing wedding
slideshows. It's alittle different
in the fact one's videos
with pictures and the other's videos
with videos. Ha!

Jumping on over to setting
the class room up. It will be
a lot like my blog here.
I am thinking this will be good
for you and I both. It will be something
we are both used to.

So get ready...

Want to view alittle more in detail
what this class will be like
check out
the tab
at
the
top called
"Online Art Class"
or click

I am off to finish the class
up by videoing a
few more
things and editing.
All while finishing up the Paypal
button for payments!

While these last few things
are under way I don't
have the actual
class day start up yet!
But please be on the lookout...
there's advantages
to signing up before the class
starts.

Are you ready!?
Have you taking an online art class before!?
What's your favorite color!?

To write, To teach

I am at a point in my life of wanting
to find a balance. A different kinda balance,
a balance that will fit my life at the moment
of being the stay home mom that I am.

One reason I rid photographing weddings,
by putting my camera on the shelf is the amount
of time it took away from my family on Saturdays.
Needing to find something more to do during
the week while every ones at school and work.
No ones getting married during those hours,
well at least not in my neck of the woods!

So for the past year after launching the sales
of my book (a tiny glimpse of inspiration of
my life already) I 've given myself alittle
free play time, still in the art world
with paint brushes, canvas, journals
etc. but I am thinking it's time to
move forward into alittle more.

More being one of two things or both:

1. writing another book, something fun,
something beyond what I've mentioned
in the past I would do, my list of books to write!

2. teaching an online art class, a personal
mix media art class.

Writing a book from my already list would
require me rumbling in some old emotions
and because I've done that with my first book
and the point I am at in my life I am thinking it's
not healthy. Being called to do something alittle more
fun, alittle more of a challenge, away from something
I am not so already attached to, I need a place
I can dream, dream and be free! A relaxing playground
yet that would still be inspiring to others.

I already have an ISBN number
I already have the knowledge, the in's and out's
of publishing a book. (layout, design, print, proof)
I just would need to plot out a good story,
have lots of time for hours of writing, have an editor
on stand by, etc.

I've always wanted to teach something, something
I am knowledgeable in. Teaching an online mix
media art class would so be up my alley. It would
be video classes taught so that the students could
work at their own pace in the comfort of their
own home. All I would need is a good video
recorder, editing, uploading videos, have private
class access, a private facebook group-for students
sharing class work, plan the class, create prompts,
etc. Even though this may seem like more to do it's mainly
because I've never done it before. And boy, oh boy, do
I love a challenge, a time to learn something new.

My thoughts are what do others think!?

Which one should I do, or should I do both!?

Tell me, tell me....

Random thoughts

Do you ever wonder
if your not following someone on
instagram, but your following them on
facebook you might be missing something!?

I wish you could put a CD in
your ipad to download music!
This whole icloud thing has it's
disadvantages...

I really love it when someones
facebook status inspires me,
reminding me to be the better me!

I don't get on pinterest near as much
as I first did!

Getting an iPhone and having instagram
is the best thing creatively that's happen
to me!

I want to teach an online mix media art class!

I want to write another book, something
really inspiring, fictional that's not been on
my books to write list already!

My new favorite food is broccoli,
red and yellow bell peppers stemmed!

I am glad I've never had to rid negative
people from my life, only because I never
let them in in the first place.

BlOg HoP-the art of WILD abandonment

YOU made iT!

I am guessing you hopped over from
craftydscreations. That's my buddy who made
"coffee time" art journal page.
You can check it out over
at her blog! I am sure it's a few
blog post down by now.

As most of you already know
I've been taking the Art of Wild Abandonment
online workshop by Junelle Jacobsen

so can you click here:

Each week Junelle
teaches the class and
Christy shares her take on it all
one time a week. Below
was inspired by
Christy's week one...

These are my watercolor crayons,
I used for the above picture.
I wish I would have
waited and purchase like what
she uses but my local art store
doesn't carry them. And actually didn't
know the difference in the two
until I got home looking at them.

Same thing on this one
sketch and watercolor
crayons...

Take time OUT:
1. Laugh! Laugh again...
2. Let others know where your light comes from!
3. Look at what's in front of you, not the person next to you!

Another take,
another day in Junelles class,
walk a day in my shoes....
created by me

as a stay home mom this one
came straight from my heart.
I can so see this one as my next
book cover. Walk a Day in my
Shoes: stories of a stay home mom.

I tell myself all the time if I had
all this time to create all the art,
write all the books and take
all the pictures that come to my mind
would be so awesome then I stop and think...
I already have a job...

One of the things Junelle
teaches is looking at what's around you
and sketch it. This woman is known
for her sketches now..

While at a local sandwhich shop one
afternoon, my eyes were wondering,
kinda like they do when I am
looking for a picture to take,
I saw the cutest little girl!

So I used a napkin and a pen from
my purse. Isn't it so
stinkin cute!?

So I did more once
I got home...

aren't these just the cutest girls ever,
I can't keep my eyes off of them...

more thumbnails sketches...

One of the big things about taking
Christy's classes is her
